The 31st Annual Duquesne Light Home & Garden Show
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The 31st Annual Duquesne Light Home & Garden Show, held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, featured over 1,500 exhibits in a two level showroom that spanned 9 acres. Primary sections of the Pittsburgh show included the Garden Pavilion, the Construction and Remodeling Center, the Kitchen and Cooking Collection, Home Interior Galleries, and Children's Village. It also hosted a presentation on the live story of Diana, The People's Princess. |

The show was covered by several television and radio stations, newspapers, and magazines. American Homes and Gardens attended the show and informally spoke with many of the exhibitors. We were particularly impressed with their friendliness, knowledge, and the fact that the exhibitors in Pittsburgh did not engage in high pressure sales tactics, which is a turn off for most visitors. |

The Garden PavilionThe Garden Pavilion presented an impressive display of lawn and garden products. Sun rooms, decks, and patios were brought to life with lush gardens, fresh cut flowers and plants, waterfalls, pools, and spas. |

The Construction and Remodeling CenterHome improvement products and service displays in the Construction and Remodeling Center included everything from the foundation to the roof of your home. The Pittsburgh show also featured dozens of exhibits in the Duquesne Light Electric Lane that included energy saving and safety tips. Solar energy and home security systems were among some of the other interesting exhibits in the area. The Home Depot provided professional DIY demonstrations and advice to help with several home improvement projects. |

The Kitchen and Cooking CollectionThe Kitchen and Cooking Collection featured an acre of kitchen cabinets and appliances, cooking and baking accessories, gourmet foods, candy, and fudge. There were also several exhibits featuring wines and accessories, including the Pennsylvania Food & Wine Festival, which will hold a two day outdoor festival on June 16-17, 2012, from 12pm to 6pm at the Split Rock Resort in Lake Harmony, PA. |

Home Interior GalleriesExhibits available in the Home Interior Galleries section offered interior decorating showcases and thousands of interior decorating ideas. They ranged from furniture displays, flooring, and lighting to home entertainment systems, musical equipment, and arts and crafts. Children's Village - A Place for Both Children and AdultsChildren's Village featured the Train Collectors' Kids Club. Surrounded by more adults than children, this exhibit featured a huge display of model trains roaring across railroad tracks that went through miniature towns and villages. Radio Disney and several other exhibits provided family entertainment. |

Diana, The People's Princess The exhibit featuring Diana, The People's Princess, was presented in seven sections that encompassed her childhood, engagement and wedding, and passing. The exhibit began with a 15 minute documentary video that outlined the life story of Princess Diana. Featuring some of Princess Diana's early childhood experiences, this exhibit shows how they became the foundation for Diana to become the royal mother, a fashion icon, humanitarian, and legend. Several of Diana's personal possessions and five royal dresses were on display. |
